“Hi - that was powerful stuff! I have absolutely no idea what was going on in my body when there was a prayer at the end. I literally felt like I was going to cry. I could feel my eyes welling up. I sat back down and had to wipe my eyes. It was like such an emotion that came over me.”

C:

“....absolutely loved it! When people were asked to stand and there was prayer, she stood. She had been in some discomfort with a sore back but the moment she stood up the pain went completely!"

From S:

“Thank you for a fabulous night. It was lovely and my husband and myself would like to say thank you for all that went into making it special xxx”

LifeStream - A Step Out of My Comfort Zone - by AJ
Last week, I attended LifeStream at the Village Hall. I'd been on the fence about going, but when I heard a friend would be there, I decided to order a ticket.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and inviting. Drink in hand, I stepped into a hall transformed - fairy lights twinkled overhead, and the tables were beautifully set with flowers, lights, and inviting snacks. The atmosphere was calm and ambient, filled with a mix of people - some even younger than me!

Still, I couldn't help but feel a little nervous. Would I be out of my depth? Out of my comfort zone?

The evening began with a band playing modern songs - music that stirred thoughts of friends, family, the environment, and life's challenges. It prompted a powerful question: When life is difficult, who do we turn to?

A short video followed, reflecting on the many names of Jesus. It asked: Do we have space for Him in our hearts? Is He present in our daily lives?

We then shared dinner together - an abundant spread, lovingly prepared and delicious. It wasn't just about the food, though. It was an opportunity to sit, eat, and have meaningful conversations with people I might otherwise pass by in everyday life.

Later came a Q&A session with a woman speaking openly about her faith. Where is God in her life? Her honest reflections stirred the same question in me: Where is God in mine?

We sang together - some familiar hymns, some completely new to me. And then we listened to a talk about Jesus - how He works for us, within us, and how life, through Him, can be rich and fulfilling.

We ended with prayer - not the quiet, contemplative kind I'm used to, but something different. More active. More expressive. It challenged my expectations, and made me reflect on the many ways God might already be moving in my life.

Someone once said that life is like a box of chocolates. If you don't like one kind, you don't reject the whole box - you simply choose the ones you do enjoy. Events like LifeStream are just like that. You take away what resonates with you.

So I'd encourage you: step out of your comfort zone. Try something new....You might just be surprised by what you discover. And you may even thank yourself for trying.

About

The Allen, Tyne and Wear rivers that carve their way through this region form a broad outline of the communities where God has placed and stirred us to reach with His love, and a message of hope and Life in all its fullness!

Through music, worship, the spoken word, and the powerful touch of God’s Presence, we hope to present a series of events in Village Halls and community buildings across the area, giving people an opportunity to meet with Jesus for themselves. Alongside food and friendship, we seek to share the message of Jesus with those who’ve yet to hear about Him.

We want to provide everyone with an opportunity to find Life in the stream of Living Water, that is Jesus.

What's on?

We believe the nature of each event will vary and be shaped by its community, hence the importance of local partners with the LifeStream team.

However, the LifeStream vision includes offering everyone with an opportunity to hear and respond to a presentation of the Christian message for everyone so they too can discover all that Jesus offers.
